Lighting
Sunset and sunrise, evening twilight, hidden gems, miniture diarams, we work with Discover to create an intriging creative space for Children to expolore.
Interactive
A series of audio and musical interactives powered by our media node network.
Sound Design
Immersive audio of Discover’s woodland creatures and gentle seas downstairs, upstairs ‘Cloud Land’ is a playful interactive dream world with gentle mystical ambience.
Lighting
Typeone took over the main creative lighting role in 2018, since then we have maintained and curated the lighting, as primary AV and creative tech partner. We installed DMX control for the first time, creating a day to night lighting cycle downstairs, lighting animation effects and gentle colour undulations upstairs.
Discover is a charity and the Story Worlds are constantly being developed and added to, not least by the visiting children, but also by a large team of professionals over 25 years. Discover continues to invest in new features to their space, Typeone works within the scope to create the best out of the resources available, alongside the dedicated team at Discover, who work daily to maintain this well loved children’s experience in the heart of London.

Minitures
Hidden around the Discover Children’s Story Centre are miniature dioramas, intriguing silhouettes of life and magic, now curated and maintained by Typeone.
Sound Design
Nestled around the story world are a number of Media Nodes, call and response as Mother Hootah Owl calls for their baby, rolling waves and sparkling magic. The distributed network of audio nodes and hidden speakers creates a wondrous immersive ambience.
The media node network is centrally controlled with our show control system and can be adjusted and muted selectively or individually as needed.
